Cuban Music Session

Music students recently had the chance to work with a group of professional musicians from Havana, Cuba

Students from Callington Community College had the opportunity to work with a group of professional musicians from Havana, Cuba on a recent trip to Torpoint School.

Members of the band "Asere" are currently on their UK tour and as part of their itinerary having been holding workshops during the day for young people in the area. For the students to have the opportunity to work with ‘real' musicians, some of who have been playing this music since they were five years old was fantastic and these guys have rhythm in their blood, plain and simple!

The students worked on vocal, rhythm and instrumental skills as part of a Salsa project they had been undertaking at school and the day ended in students coming together for a performance in the school's main hall.

What a day, Viva La Cuba!!!!!
